P&G vice president, Jeff Weedman, leads Global Business Development (GBD), which encompasses Connect + Develop℠ (P&G’s global branded approach to open innovation), mergers & acquisitions, licensing (technology and trademark), outsourcing, etc. GBD’s role is to accelerate innovation in new products and services for consumers worldwide by seeking external collaboration opportunities for world class technology, business propositions, and brands. GBD also makes P&G’s capabilities and assets available to help facilitate value creation for external companies.
Jeff’s GBD group’s results have been featured in numerous publications/media around the world, including The Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, BusinessWeek, The Financial Times, BBC Radio, and The Economist (Jeff accepted for P&G, The Economist’s 2007 1st ever “Corporate Innovation Award”).
Jeff’s P&G career includes brand management and finance roles, marketing, sales and general manager responsibilities across well-known brands like Tide, Dawn, Folgers and others in the US and Canada.
Jeff’s expertise has been sought out for various boards/memberships, including yet2.com; Green Earth Cleaning, LLC; Glad JV (P&G’s partnership with Clorox); European Industrial Research Management; Swiss Precision Diagnostics JV (P&G partnership with Inverness Medical); Agile Pursuits (P&G’s franchising subsidiary); and is an advisor for CincyTech and the University of Michigan’s Samuel Zell & Robert H. Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies. Jeff has also been a featured keynote at many open innovation conferences around the globe. He is a member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) and is a Certified Licensing Professional.
A native of Anderson, Indiana, received his BA at Albion College (Michigan) and completed his MBA at the University of Michigan. Jeff resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, with his wife, son and daughter.
